Travel Tip Tuesday - Picking your accommodation

31st August 2021

One of the most exciting parts about travelling is where you will be staying. Depending on what your travel plans are you might only need to book one place to stay or you might need to book a few places. Furthermore depending on your budget, reason for travelling and a few other factors the place you select to spend the night might vary. However here are this Tuesday’s Travel Tips on picking your accommodation:

Tip 1: Search for some reviews

There is no better judgement of a place than someone who has already been there! So make sure that when you are looking for somewhere to stay you not only look at the online reviews, but also ask fellow travellers if they have heard or stayed there too.

Tip 2: Don’t be swayed by the photos

As we all know photos can be edited beyond belief and therefore take each website’s photos with a pinch of salt.

Tip 3: Location, Location, Location

Location is everything, especially when travelling and when you will probably be more reliant on public transport links. Therefore before booking ensure there are good links to and from the accommodation.

Tip 4: Safety is key

It’s important throughout your travels that you stay safe. Therefore make sure you have a quick read through the accommodation’s safety protocols. Also another thing to ask about and to look for is a safety deposit box near your bed where you can safely keep valuables such as your passport.

Tip 5: What else do they offer

A lot of places will offer some awesome complementary offers with your stay. It’s definitely a must to have a look into this and see what extra you can do on your travels for very little extra cost (if any)!
