It’s the ideal base from which to explore the vast landscape and encounter the abundant wildlife roaming the area.

Accommodation & Amenities

Mugie House offers an exceptional African safari experience. No two days are the same and there is a variety of exciting activities to keep you entertained. Day and night drives take you through the conservancy in search of big game, time spent in the hide provides the opportunity to photograph visitors to the watering hole, while the Mugie Dam is the perfect spot to do some kayaking. Best of all, you can interact with Tala, Mugie House’s resident tame giraffe, and enjoy Mugie’s 9 hole golf course. Mugie House’s creative menu offers delectable dishes prepared with ingredients sourced from its very own vegetable garden. Indulge in scrumptious meals worthy of any 5-star menu while surrounded by the tranquillity of nature. Meals can be taken poolside, for an alfresco dining experience, or in the main house. And for an added twist, picnics and bush meals can be arranged in scenic locations around the conservancy.

Rooms

**Double cottages** (5 cottages): Ensuite stone cottages are furnished with fireplaces and luxurious baths. Each enjoys an expansive view over the landscape or over the colourful Mugie House garden.
**Suite** (one suite): Enjoy a private plunge pool on your verandah, with infinite views across the Laikipia plains. One suite is currently under construction.
**Family cottage** (1 cottage): An ensuite double and twin room are interconnected by a spacious lounge area with a wide verandah and private plunge pool.
Governors’ Mugie House sleeps a total of 18 guests. All cottages are out around a hill in the heart of the conservancy, giving sweeping views over the Laikipia plains and to Mt Kenya. Each spacious cottage offers luxurious baths and open log fires.
Room service is available on request. Tea and coffee is served in the rooms with the morning wake up call.
