The Banana House offer lovely rooms for one, two or three people, spacious family suites and huge superior-class penthouses. You can rent a floor, a whole house, or the entire Banana House, with their experienced staff catering to all your needs. With its remarkable views of the sea and beautiful gardens, Banana House is simply and tastefully furnished in traditional Swahili style. Sitting areas, day beds and hammocks are located throughout. A swimming pool is situated in an area of the garden abundant with exotic bird life. Guests can also enjoy a spa or beauty treatment at the Banana House Wellness Centre, a venue that is also home to daily yoga sessions. Banana House kitchen is well known! It serves excellent daily fresh seafood like ginger crab, barbecued snapper, tuna carpaccio or yummy prawns curries as to mention a few. Only organic, daily fresh ingredients from the local farmers or fishermen are used to prepare meals. They have their own organic farm as well. Food is prepared with a lot of love and care. The cooks have done an ayurvedic cooking course and prepare delicious vegetarian food as well!

At Banana House, the activity manager will gladly arrange all activities. He organises Lamu Town visits, Dhow trips, sunset or day trips to Manda Toto where you go snorkelling, fishing and have beach barbeques. Visits to Takwa ruins, Matandoni and Kipungani. Overnight trips to any of the surrounding islands, such as Pate or Kiwayu, are also possible. If you’d like to soak in the tranquil atmosphere of Lamu, it’s hard to beat a sunset sailing trip on a traditional dhow. This really is a most relaxing and unique experience!
