About Ashnil Samburu Camp

Ashnil Samburu Camp is a tented camp with a riverside location. Each tent consists of a dressing and sitting area plus en suite bathroom facilities. Guests at Ashnil Camp also have the opportunity to enjoy a taste of local Samburu culture. Informative talks and enthralling dances will give you an insight in to the traditional lifestyle of the Samburu people. You can also visit nearby Samburu villages during your afternoon activity to buy their handicrafts.

Ashnil Samburu Camp consists of a main lodge with reception, a lounge and bar plus restaurant. There is an outdoor veranda with a river view, and the swimming pool has a sundeck with loungers and shade umbrellas. There are Internet facilities at the main lodge’s business centre, and if you need to buy a souvenir or two, then the lodge has a convenient gift shop. A convenient detail is the fact that the lodge has a well-equipped clinic and registered nurse on site. All meals are included at Ashnil Samburu Camp. Located in the main lodge, the communal restaurant has excellent river views and serves set buffets featuring international, Oriental and traditional African cuisine. There is also an ice-cream parlour. Candlelit bush suppers can be arranged on request as can champagne breakfasts on safari and even a picnic lunch box, enabling you to spend the day out on a game drive.

Location - Buffalo Springs Nature Reserve

Morning and afternoon game drives are the focus but there is also the opportunity to walk with guides – a great way to see some of the 360 plus bird species that have been recorded here. A resident naturalist provides evening lectures on a variety of subjects and is on hand to answer specialist questions. With the famous natural Buffalo Springs, guests can take a short game drive to cool off from the midday heat.
